At Mad Farmers, we believe healthy gardens help create healthy communities.
Our urban gardens on the southside of Indianapolis have been producing fresh, organically grown food for our local community since 2011. We now also offer a wide array of edible plants for your food garden, native plants for your home landscape, and classes to help you grow!

Our Nursery
Mad Farmers Nursery offers a curated selection of plants and supplies to help you feed your family and support the local ecosystem! Here you will find:
- Garden vegetable, herb, and flower seedlings
- Perennial berry plants
- Native trees, shrubs, and perennials that are well-suited to small urban and suburban landscapes
- Seeds and essential garden supplies, including row cover and fertilizer
Our seedlings are strong, seasonally-appropriate, and ready to thrive.
Shop our plants online, at our on-farm retail hours, and at the farmers markets.

Our Produce
Our two southside gardens produce an abundance of veggies year-round. We focus on seasonally-appropriate crops that grow well in our (often) wild Indiana weather, and that yield well in our small-scale, intensive gardens.
In our online store or market stand, you will find:
- Seasonal salad greens - spring mix, summer lettuces, and winter spinach that keep salad a main course year-round
- More greens and greens - kale and chard are staples year-round
- Tomatoes and cherry tomatoes - only around for a few months, but anticipated all year!
- Fresh ginger - this beauty is a late summer taste of the tropics
- Other seasonal delights - spring carrots, summer zucchini, fall fennel, Thanksgiving celery and more!
We offer our produce to you through on-farm pickup, farmers markets, and through our retail and restaurant partners around Indy.
